Nicer and brisker this morning - 41 at wake up. Even at 41 it was more comfortable than yesterday. No wind today and lots of sun. We should top out in the mid/high 60's. Back up to 80 tomorrow and 87 by Saturday.
I had a HUGE victory yesterday. I caught three doelings that have been on the "bye-bye" list for a while. They are in the trailer and if I can get them to calm down for a minute I'll get pictures and get 'em listed. One is really friendly, one is so-so friendly, and one is a cra-cra wildcat! I had to build a catch pen in the barn to get her. It was a very small pen - maybe 4 x 4. I put feed in there and attached a rope to the gate so I could hide behind a door and pull it shut if/when she went in. She did, and I shut the gate and waited a minute for her to settle down. She didn't. I slipped in and as she started literally bouncing off the walls, I caught her in mid-air before she launched herself over the fence. Dang, I'm good, lol! But, I have been doing this for a while.
Taught her to lead also. Well....sorta. Actually, I taught her it was much easier to let me stand close to her than to try and break her own neck doing double back flips at the end of the lead rope. The girl can learn!
Hopefully in a few more days they'll be outta here!
