Love to fish. Used to go to the creek every summer by the house and fish all day. Once I caught a snapping turtle. It was huge. Dragged it up to the house because it had my brand new luer(sp) in its mouth and I wanted it back. Dad refused, of course, to take pliers and get it out. Instead he cut the line and took it back to the creek in a bucket. Never saw my luer again. 😠😥

when i lived in Ohio there was a park with a pathway through it that i would walk regularly. one day there was this huge snapping turtle going across the pathway and it was a kind of blind corner where someone on a bike would likely have been very surprised by this turtle so i hung around for a while before that corner to warn people on bikes to slow down and that there was a turtle crossing.

it was a very big one with the whole boggy ecosystem growing on top of it. i wished i'd had my camera with me that day.

Snapping turtles are NO fun! The ones I've encountered are pretty serious about their privacy, lol. We give them a wide berth!

So yesterday on the way to the fishing hole we were attacked! By a rock.... Some other vehicle managed to toss up a rock and it smacked right into my windshield. Got a really nice big ding in the glass that will need to be taken care of. ARGH! So annoying!

Woke up to rain this morning! YaY! Not heavy or stormy - just a nice steady rain. Exactly what we need. I took a stroll out through the pasture yesterday and found that the rye grass is trying to get going! WooHoo! Supposed to stay wet until mid-afternoon. I'll take it. Heard the other day that we are almost a foot behind in our yearly rain. That's signnificant. Might have more coming in for the weekend. Can't complain. However - when we're nearly a foot OVER our normal I'll start griping, lol!

May or may not have ordered some thornless blackberries. Actually DID order some earlier this year. Lemme just say that before DH hurt his back - when he actually still ran the weed whacker - he wasn't very discriminating about what he trimmed. Oh - and he wasn't very discriminating TWICE! The poor blackberries gave up after that... :(

May I ask where you ordered them from? I have 2 but always looking to add more. All of the black and raspberry plants that survived this year either came from Esty or from a local lady. None of the ones from a big seller lived.

I ordered them off of eBay…they are small plants but I hope they’ll do okay

Endearing isn't exactly the way I looked at it, but if you had asked him about MY reaction (especially the second time) I kinda doubt "endearing" would be in his description either, lol. Oh well...

Got a pic of my nekkid neck roo...he definitely wasn't impressed with me following him around. It's been raining all day and all they wanted was groceries, lol. Too dark to get chick pics and they're less photogenic than the big guy!
