Those are just two examples - there are tons more. I like the symbolism of the cardinal - but like all horse people, I love the horse. Maybe I'll use the cardinal in the memorial tattoo and then go hog wild and get a horse somewhere else, lol. No definite decisions yet. I want to talk with the tattoo artist and get their opinion. The person I'm thinking about using does the most beautiful bird work that I've ever seen.

I'm certain it was gorgeous at 20 --- but, at well past 50, those rascal were wrinkling  :old moral, think long term.

LOL, I actually did consider the implications of my old skin - then I said **** it!

If I were doing this for vanity I might worry about it, but at the same time, if I were doing it for vanity I simply wouldn't do it. I mean - I've worn my hair in a ponytail every day for nearly 3 years, lol. No vanity here!

Since I'm doing this as a tribute to my daughter and hopefully as a small band aid for my soul - I'm ok with wrinkles.

(But, in all honesty that's one of the things I want to consult with the artist about.) 👨‍🎨

Do what makes you happy.
Trying. Not much makes me happy these days... but in time I expect that will change.

I'm not sure why I feel compelled to do the tattoo but I'm definitely following my heart on this one.

Yesterday was DH's b'day so I took him to a seafood restaurant on the water. He enjoyed getting out and loved his fried oysters. Today he has an EMG on his legs. Fun times...

Yep - DH didn't have any fun at his doc appt. Said the doc identified problems with his right leg stemming mostly from L5. He's also worried about the muscle loss in both of his hands. More hurry up and wait to talk to the neurologist about these findings. He also has an appt. with a "movement specialist" doc in a few weeks.

I agree, follow your heart. That tattoo will be your very own and mean a lot to you.
