And she lives up to her name! I'm excited for Conan babies too, but I hope he doesn't throw a bunch of white babies...I dunno why, but I'm not crazy about white goats. But, I'll take what I can get!

I have no objection to a Kiko doe - but not in a hurry either. The people I got Conan from aren't selling any does since they are building their herd. I'm going to be happy with my crosses for awhile. In fact, I'd probably get another buck before I'd get a doe. Then I could seriously breed up the percentage and get fairly close to purebred eventually. The meat goat market is pretty good here and folks don't really care if they're purebred or not. I'm going to consider raising my prices this year - I'm much too generous when selling buck kids - and buck kids seem to be preferred by some ethnicities for meat.

Hot. Hot. Hot. Did I mention that it is hot? We helped our neighbor Robert this morning put metal on his porch roof. First I climbed up there and rolled out the radiant heat barrier, then Robert and my husband shoved tin up there and we lined up the first piece and I screwed it down. After I got a few pieces in place, Robert came up on the roof and helped screw the metal down. My husband shoved tin up to us and we positioned it and screwed it down. By 10:20 we were done, soaking wet and hot. Sharon had ice tea ready for us and it sure was good.

100+++++++ HOT!

I thought Clifford would throw all black kids. Had 6 kids from him this year and none were black. Maybe you'll luck out! I like solid colors. Do kikos come in different colors? I've mostly seen white or cream.

You CRAZY woman - getting on a roof in that kinda heat! Glad you were down before it got even more terrible!

I've seen mostly white/cream. But, they do seem to come in different colors too. I saw a pic (google) of a gorgeous solid red buck that was absolutely stunning!

Woke up before 6am....what is wrong with me????? I hate that I can't sleep late. Got the trailer out last night in anticipation of picking up some hay soon. I noticed when I got the 50 square bales a couple weeks ago that the trailer pulled hard and sluggish. Hmmmm…. perhaps I shoulda checked the air pressure in the tires before I loaded it up? Thankfully, the field was only a couple miles from the house. So, pulled it out last night and checked the pressure...only 30lbs in each tire. They have now been adjusted to the proper air pressure and hope that when I'm pulling some round bales they'll move a lot easier, lol.

Not sure what's on the agenda today besides hiding from the sun. Laundry is all taken care of...kitchen work is all caught up. Maybe a movie day, lol! Or not... Need another cup of coffee before I make that decision!

Ooh I would love to see that! I doubt I'll ever have a kiko but I love looking at them! Maybe if i get rich, lol, they're big money here.

Ew on the heat. It's 67 and rainy here. Love it!

Ok Google just helped me find a much more affordable kiko breeder in NH. Maybe someday, lol.

A forced day off due to this heat is driving me nuts. Make that dayS off! :he
I had a few days like that over the last few weeks. For some reason, after being used to temps of over 100F, my body decided it's used to much, much cooler temps now, thank you very much. The moment it goes over 75F my blood pressure is off and I'm struggling. SO frustrating!
