That she is social should be beneficial in her adjustment. I've worked with married couples in ALF. They have done fine, can stay in their suite as much or as little as they want, can come and go as desired.
I truly hope and pray that when I get older, I can keep it all together enough to still take care of myself. My idea of a good death is to go riding on my favorite horse at age......ummm…..105.....get thrown off and hit my head on a rock.
If I can't go outside, I will be ready to go. My DD said that I would live in a barn as long as I could go outside. she didn't mean a plush barndominuim, she meant a BARN! LOL LOL LOL
We are in a high state of stress trying to decide how to help MIL. So, to relieve that stress - I have wine and am headed to the hot tub. We have an appt. in the a.m. to see a place...
One thing to note while you are touring: Do the residents seem content? Does the staff interact positively and frequently with the residents, or is it on an only as needed basis? Does the place smell clean?
I wussed out - sent DH to do it because he's going on to work afterwards. I didn't want to take two vehicles...so
@LazyGardener - Thanks for the suggestions. DH is a nurse. He will probably be more observant than me! We are both very picky and just went through this same issue a year ago with my parents. We sure got our education back then...
Ok - my stupid barn loft roosting chickens are about to get a rude awakening today. Several of them are at least back to laying in the nest boxes but more are roosting in the rafters now. Those girls are a bad example. Today will be "block off the loft" day. I am not looking forward to that...working over my head on a dusty, spider webby area is not on my list of fun things to do. But, they are forcing me to do it! In fact, I might just kick 'em outta the barn altogether. I might put roosts in the area where their nest boxes are... I dunno yet - but I'm tired of chicken poop in my baby goat pens. Didn't used to be that way - bad, bad chickens.
Stupid PIA just refuse to have her babies. Ligaments are there and hard every day. However Cameo is due within the next 10 days or so. Sure hope she gives me some spotted Kiko cross babies. I think Lucy's babies are cute - but I really like color.
Need another cuppa coffee and then I get to go outside and tromp through the mud to get started.
Yea - we had 3/4 of an inch of rain last night. That is exactly what we needed....
