I have about turned myself cross-eyed. I've done nothing this afternoon except search the internet for random jewelry pieces. I've found a few treasures and even more duds, lol. It's been a trip down memory lane and I'm maybe 1/10th of the way through.... argh. But, it's a bit of an addiction, lol. I tell myself to walk away and I go feed...come back and search...cook dinner and come back and search. I'm a woman on a mission for sure.
LOL You'll get it done!
At least there's a lot of memories attached. What fun!

she took a pair of my mom's mother-of-pearl earrings and glued magnets to the back. They are on my fridge holding up a list family phone #s.
That is a fantastic idea. I'll be getting my grandkids for their annual summer visit in a few weeks. I'll bet we can put some of these things to good use. Thanks for the idea!

I like the magnet idea! I love refrigerator magnets and I have some of my Mom's old costume jewelry. FEM, going through your Mom's jewelry has got to be bittersweet. :hugs

Thanks @baymule! It is definitely bittersweet. But, going through all this stuff... it's crazy! Some of the stuff I remember her wearing - other stuff I don't remember ever seeing. My mom was an addict, lol. A jewelry addict. She had been doling out jewelry to us for at least 10 years before she died. Some to my sister, some to me, some to one of her granddaughter's... and yet - I just counted her rings. FORTY-SIX of them! Who has 46 rings? :ep

I've been alone in the office all week and will still be tomorrow. It's amazing how much I can get done when there are zero interruptions! I got so much done that I had some free time to work on my retirement pkg. I have a meeting tomorrow with our financial guru at work and we're gonna look at some options. I'm thinking about Dec 31...or if it makes a LOT of financial sense I might be persuaded to stay until Jan 31st....but it's gonna have to be a heck of a reason to make me stay.

So, I figured up how much time off I have coming to me....200 hours of sick time. almost that much of vacation - 192 hours and 77 of comp time. Taking all those hours into account and all the holiday time we have left in the year - I might (MIGHT) just have a mere 39 days of actual office time left! Woo Hoo! Oh wait - I still accrue time every month - so I might have more hours I have to take! Ha! Course, if I go to January it'll be a little more - but the end is definitely in sight. (Why do I feel like somethings going to come along and screw this up???)

Goats are looking good again because we're really dry. They don't collect parasites when it's this dry! Already thinking about the fall breeding plans.... I'll cut down a bit before then though. I've got 4 wethers and a young buckling that will go...either in the freezer or just leave home. Have at least one doeling to move out also. Just have to find the right time to make that happen. It'll happen though.

(Why do I feel like somethings going to come along and screw this up???)

Because it so often does :( But I think this one is pretty much a shoe in for a "GO". And today's the day for your meeting, so you should be able to kinda, sorta, almost settle in on it. (How firm was that? :old)

It is Soooooo happening. Looks like I’m going to actually work a week or so into January- but thinking my drop dead date could be 1-10-20. I need to sit down with a calendar and figure out if I can actually get all my PTO squeezed into that time frame.

Cowboy is mad at me. He’s wearing the “cone of shame” because of a hotspot on his butt that he will NOT leave alone, it’s been several months now and he has literally chewed through all the skin and it’s raw and oozing. It’s just nasty. Sooooo- this is the only semi- sort of solution. Put it on Tuesday night and it lasted about 18 hours before he got it off. Kinda amazed that it lasted that long. Had to reinforce it when I reattached it because he had jacked up the tabs that hold it on. He’s got several layers of duct tape on it now, lol. I think I should go ahead and order about 20 more of em cuz he’s giving them a baptism by fire!
