I wonder if mandarins and clementines replace kumquats?
For marmalade - maybe. However, there's not really much similarity in the taste. I'm chopping them up today and I'll get them started simmering. It took me three days last time because of interruptions and such. Didn't make any difference, it set up very well with no added pectin at all. I'm anxious to get a nice supply put up.

Finally we've got a pretty day at least as far as sunshine goes. Hopefully we top out at 50ish and not quite down to freezing tonight. I'm done with this stuff! I sure hope it's done with us, lol.

Goat kids are coming along. These kids are really nice - all of them! I'm almost sad that I let Frankie go. But, I think they'll cross well with Conan. At that point I'll have at least some kids that will be 87.5% Kiko. I hope that the little bit of Nubian left will keep contributing to nice udders and milkiness. I've milked several of the 50% Kiko/Nubian and have been pleased.

Guess I should get suited up and outside to feed. Brrr already!

I feel yuh sista! 🥶🥶🥶🥶

There are only patches of "wintery mix" left on the ground. It is sunny and high in the 50's. The next 10 days will slowly warm up, finally getting above freezing at night and highs in the 60's. February is not over, but I hope it's over! I don't like this either. Groveton is warmer by several degrees than Lindale, I'm perfectly ok with that.

Warmer is good(er) for sure, lol! I sat outside yesterday for a while with the baby goats. They were loving the sunshine and letting the whole world know how much fun it is to be a baby goat without a care in the world. It must be so much fun to have springs for legs!

Warming up daily with a promise of 70 by next weekend. I surely hope this is the end of winter for us - but it's probably not. About the time we get complacent, plant a few veggies and think we're good - we'll get a late freeze. Ugh.

I still have one more doe to kid and I have no idea of her due date. Not sure how I missed writing it down, but I think it was somewhere around the time DH was sick. I'm not terribly worried about it except for trying to time her CDT booster. I'm going to watch her udder and as soon as it starts development, I'll get her boosted.

Beautiful day today - we topped 70 degrees! Yay - but only going to last a bit longer. Cold and rainy again early next week I think. Took advantage of it and got a little done in the garden. I got a few more seeds in the ground - that felt good.

I've been spending lots of time with the 4-legged kids. (Hope to get some time with the two legged grands in a couple weeks.) Yay for all of it. I think I'm about to get all the furry kids named. All "P" names. Yes - I'm going to owe @FarmerJamie a royalty because I used "Pixie" for one little cutie.

Let's see, I've got Pixie, Petunia, Poppy, Punkin, Precious, Patches (tentative), Pearl, Pebbles, Piper, and Peppermint (also tentative) so far. Remembering the names is tough, but remembering which kids go with which mama is harder, lol.
