I try to score at least an extra turkey or two when they are on sale around Thanksgiving each year. They taste nothing like my free range birds but the price is too good to pass up.

Also if you drop it by the meat department they will cut it in half and freezer wrap the halves for free.

yesterday we went back for another one! whoot! the house smells like turkey heaven. and nope, not like the freerange birds but wow what a deal!

heavens I can barely wait for thanksgiving


I refuse to eat or cook turkey after Sept. 30-----I want to savor and go insane waiting for that thanksgiving bird! LOL


My Mom always made a turkey in October. Drove me nuts!!

Never in summer cause she would never want to turn on the oven of course, so when it got cool and the turks hit the store---wham turkey time.

We smoked a few birds a couple years ago---WOW the taste is fab!

Hmm..gotta do that again soon!

That's a great deal. I usually try and find turkey deals at the holiday or just after. A few 12 to 15 pound birds go nicely in my freezer.
