Another thought: I know you were moving around a bit before settling into your new home, Dace -- could you have used a different/new laundry soap on what you were wearing that day? (It sounds like how I discovered "scented" feminine products don't work for me.) Hope you feel better soon.

I'm thinking the probiotics have to be applied, not ingested, to help with the yeast infection - just a thought.

No fun Dace, hope things improve soon!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback.

I think that if I don't see improvement by tomorrow I will see a doc.

I appreciate the iodine info, and I should get some to have on hand anyway, bt I don't think that will help in this current case.

No new laundry soap etc....it definitely came on when wearing the snug-in-the-crotch shorts :(

Wondering if it has something to do with the jacuzzi?

Probiotics on the in and outside....check!

The whole region is inflamed and a little swollen. Very frustrating!

Edited to add....the term Cootch Cooties keeps running thru my mind :/

Wonder if its a combo of the 2? Irritation from the pinch, then chemicals or even some crazy thing in the jacuzzi water made it worse? Maybe got under the skin? Just thinking out loud.

Hottubs and the like are actually well known for causing yeast infections. All the chemicals and yuckies floating around in there... I don't even swim in pools anymore if it's unneccessary, and hottubs, YUCK, no way! As for treating it, there are plenty of over the counter medicines for it. I personally only get them if I run out of homemade soap and have to resort to store-bought crap. I've since learned that if I run out or if I'm somewhere else and forgot my own soap, I only use water down there, even in the general area. Otherwise I end up with a funky uncomfortable coot. As for treatment, preventing whatever caused it in the first place will go a long way. Do not get in the jacuzzi at all until you're cured. Use vinegar and yogurts if you want to be natural. Vinegar helps acidify the cooter to it's normal acidity and yogurt (though I've never tried it) is supposed to help eat the yeast or whatever it does. As for the itchies, I've actually found that baby diaper rash cream with zinc oxide works absolute wonders. Put it on before peeing so that it doesn't burn when you pee, then wipe, and put more on to keep it from itching until next potty break. :) Oh, and make sure that you dilute the vinegar, you're trying to restore acidity, not make pickled coot.

Lol. Glad you guys got a laugh out of it. :) Pioneer, I hate when that happens. For me, it's always when I'm in the middle of some big meeting with my bosses... I start daydreaming and then remember something funny and just start laughing. I think they're used to it by now though, lol.

Dace, if you try the route of yogurt coated coot, I'm curious to know how well it works.
