Ok, I haven't updated, b/c I have been discouraged. The only thing I can think of is either, my floatation solution is not working, or my animals don't have any parasites. I know they have parasites, though, b/c even if their loads might not be heavy, every living creatures has some worms in them yes?. I have done the cats--nothing. Cow, I found one or two, but couldn't really identify what kind of worms they were from. I just got done doing one of my horses fecals, and found nothing, The only thing I could find ( aside from air bubbles and plant matter were these corkscrew thingies, but I can't identify them, I don't know if they are worms (oocysts, whatever you call them) or just part of the poo.

I have followed the instructions on Fias Co farms website to the tee. My floatation solution even has a layer of undissolved epsom salts on the botton, it is that saturated.

What am I doing wrong????????

Probably NOTHING. It is conceivable that your animals are in better shape than you suspected. The corkscrew things should be easy to identify if you get a key.
The fact that you have done everything by the book is a good indication that things are going well. If your animals are healthy and not showing signs of illness, then you can breathe a little easier. Now if you see frank diarrhea or abnormally formed manure, then you may need to re-think your procedures but the only possible explanation now would probably be your experience in recognizing the parasites.
You did see some so you ARE looking hard enough. Just keep at it. Maybe you should ask one of your local friends if they have an animal who is exhibiting signs of parasite infestation to give you a sample of that and see what you find.
In all, it looks like you are doing well. Keep up the good work. Hopefully, your animals will continue to stay healthy and you WON'T find any parasites of consequence.

I thought the same thing until I did a fecal on the buckling right after he arrived here and he was loaded! There was no question at all. Also, during winter the worm load tends to be low. So you are likely doing it right.

Do more samples when it gets really warm and the grass starts growing and you might see a few more.
