Our traditional camping breakfast we call Rocky Mountain Toast although I've heard it called other names.
You need just a heat source so your camp stove works great. Butter both sides of a piece of bread and tear out a piece that makes a large hole in the center. Plop both down in the pan, with the round piece off to the side. Drop an egg into the center. From here, you can customize it. I like mine flipped over once, and then draped with a piece of american cheese.
My husband likes the yolk broken and scrambled around a little and cooked hard, and then flipped and cooked hard again, and then served with salsa. Our sons both like them plain. We all like the little round pieces of bread fried in butter best of all, the middles.
Eggs do not need to be refridgerated and neither do butter and bread, so all of this can come with you and don't take up ice box space. You can also quickly turn this meal into french toast if you just bring a few spices and syrup, so it works out to be quite versatile if you just have a cool dry secure place to store it.
