I remember my mother using one of those all the time. She used it to make babyfood for my brother and other stuff. I think she put cooked potatoes through it also, to make dumplings. I am trying to think of what else she did with it.
This is waaay before blenders of course

BTW, I have one of those and didn't realize that it could be used to grind grains. So I'm really glad you posted pictures. Thanks!!!

A regular grinder is probably what your mom used. The grain grinder is made for dry stuff. I don't think wet things will work it is...will they?

I want the other kind too so I can make my own sausages.

I have an antique girl grinder. Is the girl grinder for grain or meat/veggies? I got it to grind chicken wings when my dog was a puppy.....I put one in, turned the crank, and almost puked, :sick but had to finish that wing cuz I couldn't get it out of the grinder.

:bun that is cool I wish I could find good stuff like that at my sal val and goodwill more often Lately it has been a mix of junkie yard sale leftovers and collage kid stuff since the local ones are located in a collage town.
