That about explains it, just can't digest it but Wheat Allergy at least mine can't handle any of the Wheat grains. Unlike some Celiacs that can tolerate some of the old ancestral Wheat grains like Kamut or Spelt. For me Oats is fine whereas with a Celiac person they cannot always handle oats because of the cross contamination problem. Some get pure Oats that have never been grown in fields where wheat has grown, or processed, etc. Some grow their own to use because oats themselves are gluten free.
I have a worse problem with Yeast. I can't tolerate yeast at all anymore, and it affects my breathing. Even if I stay away from Yeast and cheat with wheat it seams to feed the yeast problem(Breathing). So I give up and I bake all my own breads with baking powder, soda and cream of tartar and I use alternative grains. This all started with THE Change. Mother never warned me, actually back then people didn't know that everyday foods could affect your health so drastically.
Oh, maybe I do have a problem Celiac like , Rye now gives me a stomach ache and Barley is the one grain that has always made me sick and Dad never made me eat it. Dad Made Beef and Barley soup often when I was growing up. My small batch was made with rice, come to think of it, Dad must have known it wasn't for me.
