I hope this is the right category. I'm sure some of you have granite for your counter tops. They put some sealant on ours when they were installed. They have never wiped down like the Formica did. The food and stuff on the counter seems to get stuck in the pores of the granite. The only way to clean it is to either puddle soapy water to dissolve the stuff or scrape it with a razor after putting some water on it. All the stone shops sell sealer kits for upwards around 100.00. They are a major profit item for them.

Does anyone know of a sealer that really works? I hate to pay 100.00 for something that doesn't work.

Sorry, I wish I knew. We have granite and they were sealed after they were put in, but I still have a stain where a dish soap bottle leaked on the countertop. I don't have a problem with food particles though -- yours may be more porous than mine...? I hope you find an answer!
