If you go to an appliance store in Mexico, you can find this type of thing. My husband is from mexico and so I've visited my mother-in-law there and have gone in the appliance store. To my surprise, I saw the old-fashioned wringer washers, along with treadle sewing machines... the old black ones like from singer 100 years ago. There are enough people down there that don't have electricity that they carry non-electric appliances like these in the stores.
