I'm just worried about those who sell something with no bad intentions and don't realize it was recalled. Have you been into a toys r' us? The bulletin board by customer service is always plastered with recalls. How hard would it be to keep up with all that? (Of course, the best way being not to buy your kids piles of junk, but I digress...)

I just feel like a lifetime of debt isn't fair just because someone didn't pay enough attention.

I don't understand because I know they later revised the law specifically to exclude garage sales and second hand stores from this legislation.

Okay, I found it. If you check it on Snopes you'll find that there was indeed a clarification of the law that exempts garage sales and thrift stores.
