 DH said 'thanks for getting me involved'.

Right off hand, he said the EPA has a lot of stupid rules in a lot of different industries. He printed off the article and is going to show it to a guy tomorrow.

Thank you Marianne (and to your DH as well). I'm hoping this turns out to be a tempest in a tea pot, but it's hard to tell from the article

Oh, for heaven's sake! My horses waste (in spite of my best efforts!) so much hay on the ground that we'd have to stop feeding round bales.

Okay, you can get your panties in a bunch if you want to. :/

DH showed the article to several guys, none of them were aware of the EPA ruling. It's their consensus that it's the rain water passing through uncovered, potentially moldy hay, creating runoff that's technically polluted.

Talk about splitting hairs. :smack Take the time to read the article from the link that WZ posted.

DH agrees that it's the big guys that's the main drive behind the EPA rulings. DH went on for some time about how he's seen stupid rulings in the auto body business that ended with small shops closing their doors, etc.

He ended with 'don't blame Obama. This stuff has been going on for 30 to 40 years'.

Yet another reason to be SS, as if any of us have to be convinced, huh.

It may be aimed at the big feedlot guys, but it applies to everyone. And it is easier to close a little farm than a big feedlot. Like in the auto body business. The little shops had to close, but you don't see any shortages of Maaco shops.

The problem is, there are so FEW things the EPA can do that makes any impact, but they have to prove their worth. Which means they have to be coming up with new codes and bringing in revenue or they get shut down. Job security for ALL govvie things like that is more regulations, plain and simple.
