I'm not even quite 50 yet and I recently got the raised eyebrows (twice in one day) and the repeat of the intake question, "What medicines do you take? None? None AT ALL???? For anything??? No prescriptions, really?"
Exactly. Keep people just a little bit sick, make sure they don't know there are other ways, and get rich selling "cures" to diseases and conditions they caused.Big pharms runs more than people realize. I'm sure they're behind keeping the food pyramid the way it is, too. Long term illness suits them.
The thing is, if people needed a prescription for most of the OTC meds, many people just wouldn't buy them. There are a few OTC meds that I will take, but not on a regular basis. Eh, our son has told us about the expats and wants us to retire in Thailand. You know what though? For me, there are still many good reasons to live in the US. Happiness is more a state of mind, and I try not to worry 'bout stuff that may or may not happen.
