Me too with the time change. *snores*
So here I sit, exhausted but not sleepy. I'm missing two Cub Scout books in the mess in the computer room and it's driving me batty. I want to rip and tear and clean but not at this hour and certainly not while DH is doing the taxes.

Ok so I just have to ask. Is there some special technique to going in the woods?? :hide

g
I quote, "Once you learn to hang your backside over a log, you'll never fearing ****ing in the woods again."
High on the list of recommended reading was "How to **** in the Woods" which is a real book.

Make sure you're pointed in the right direction, and not on a hill. Helps keep your shoes dry. ;)

Yeah, that one they taught us in Girl Scouts! I shared the log info with my assistant den leader. He is so looking forward to going to camp with me now! :hide And he'll have to be the one to teach the boys.... We actually have flush toilets so it won't be an issue. I hope. Because the other thing I remember from GS was that snakes like to hide under logs. :ep

Remember, leaves of 3, let it be, or you'll be extremely itchy. And, hairy rope, don't be a dope.

 In 47 years of spending a lot of time in the outdoors, I've never had poison ivy! Just lucky I know. My mom never got it until she was in her 40s or 50s. So I know I could easily if I'm not careful. I did sit in a patch of it on Cape Cod once. My soon-to-be-ex-BIL-thejerk let me sit there for a full two minutes, in short, before he told me. My revenge was not getting a rash. Jerk.
The time change is catching up to me. I was fine all day, kind of pumped up actually, but I'm drained after an hour with my Cub Scouts. I had an overplanned meeting so no down time and whining about being bored but there are two boys that I have a hard time liking. Don't know how else to say it. I just don't really like them. They're a little whiny, one questions everything I do and asks if he can do it another way. My own DS likes to try to entertain everyone by being a clown and I get a real good idea of what his teacher goes through everyday... I do like being their leader most of the time but man am I tired when we're done! And tonight we talked about resident summer camp for a week. eeeep. Do I really want to be out in the woods with these whiners??? Yeah, I guess I kind of do.

Back from Cub Scout Committee meeting. Always a trip. The treasurer is the only other female and she is NUTS! And she leaves early, leaving me with all the guys.... a week in the woods with kids is going to be nothing. It's the adults that are going to make me nuts. At least 2 of them, the 2 running the meeting have ADHD, whether they know it or not. They are off topic more than they're on. One of them will whip out his fancy phone to look something up on the Internet in the middle of a conversation, email a link ACROSS the TABLE to another guy. At that point the Phone Wars start and half the guys pull out their phones to start comparing features. Then they have to demo their ring tones...We get the job done but not without a lot of nonsense. Then in the middle of it all my supervisor texts ME to tell me Stop and Shop has corned beef. And my phone bahs like a goat.... that stopped all conversation utterly (pun intended)!
Yesterday my Donki celebrated her 3rd birthday. She is my CAE positive Nubian. She celebrated by playing with Thomas the wether for quite a while and RAN across their pen to get to me for her birthday apple. Donki ambles, she doesn't run. Yesterday she was feeling those oats I guess!
DS had a trial riding lesson yesterday. He loved it! He has his first formal lesson tomorrow after school. I was going to wait until his birthday in 3 weeks but once I made the call to the stable she suggested bringing him over for the trial and there didn't seem to be any point to waiting. She's more than willing to be flexible once Little League season starts.
Standardized testing is almost done. It's been two weeks of disruptive scheduling and stressed out kids. Friday will be the end and the day is capped off with a pep rally because our girls' basketball team is playing in the state championship for their class on Saturday. Very exciting. No, I'm not going. I'm sleeping on Saturday if it kills me!
DH has finished our taxes. He got a raise when he took the new job but we're still getting some back. New computer finally! I can't wait! The rest is being used to pay some bills and fence in the vegetable garden. We may do a few other things around the house.
Spring slogs on. Love mud season-not! Our snow is almost gone, just plops of dirty yuck here and there now. Nasty! No spring peepers yet. You'll know when I hear them! I always post. I swear it's the most exciting day of the year when I first hear those little froggies. :D I do have snow drops coming up. No crocus yet but they may be under leaves.
DH has more than a half gallon of syrup from our one tree.
I think that pretty much sums things up here in a choppy sort of way. My sewing languishes. My house is a disaster. sigh. Spring is BUSY!!
