I just received a half pound of garlic in the mail. I guess I know what I'll be doing for part of the weekend anyway! I also hope to pick apples. The temperatures have dropped into the 60s, the sky is that gorgeous September blue. My favorite time of year.

I have that catalog I will have to take a look. I need to order some before the snow flies.

I got the Musik variety. This will be my first time planting garlic.
Oh! I harvested my first tomato yesterday! It may be the only one...it was a mid-sized Lemon Boy. I ate the whole thing like an apple standing over the kitchen sink. Yum!

We've had good luck with garlic from Vermont Bean in the past H23. I think you will be really happy with that choice. :D

Thanks, that's great to know!! I hope I have room for it all in the bed I have planned for it.

We have a busy weekend. We were going to go to the Celtic Festival in Hartford but I think we will stick closer to home instead. We've got the garlic to plant and plenty of other chores around the house. I want to pick apples and get some mums at the orchard in Woodstock. DH has been out of town since yesterday at his uncle's funeral. He is back. It was a world wind event with lots of family drama. It feels like it should be a ~stay close to home and bake pies and bread and do some autumn preparations~kind of weekend. We are also cat sitting for one couple and cat, sheep and angora bunny sitting for another. The bunny is new to our crew of friends. She is 9 weeks old and absolutely adorable. My friend tried to explain the coloring to me but I got lost in the genetics as usual. Her name is Bronwyn. That I can handle!

Mmm, corn on the cob, with no teeth. Messy but doable.

It was a busy but beautiful day. Rain tomorrow. We need it and we have lots to do inside so I won't complain.
