i have a spot where i want to plant mint...on the west side of the house, cause of the phone, elect, and cable lines we cant mow too close so i figures i would plant the mint there and if it comes out far enough, i will mow it off. i remember grandma doing that years ago.

Yes, do be careful with the mint. Years ago I had chocolate mint travel under a concrete driveway about 4 feet and come up in a crack in the concrete. :/

Thank you for the info. I think I am going to try growing some inside this winter in my bay window in pots. At least to get them started. I will try the food ones and the lavender for sure. Any other things I should consider? Also want to grow garlic inside.
