Pork prices will probably also go up, since China is experiencing a Swine Ebola epidemic (I didn't even know they could get it!) so the world's supply of pork will go down. Even if we don't buy chinese pork, american prices will go up

You can basically plan on a jump in (human) food and animal feed prices across the board. I will be most surprised if this DOESN'T happen.

I saw pork loin at a good price yesterday. I just might stock up a bit. They also had ham steak on sale at $1.99/#. Time to clean some clutter out of the freezers and load up.

Sounds like all meat, and the foods used to feed those animals, is going to rise. The people who want the world on a strictly plant-based diet are gonna have a field day with this.

I'll most likely get my 2 deer limit this fall so no biggie. I like deer meat better anyways.

We've been talking about the likely rise in prices and are going to buy a bunch of pork to smoke up and freeze in dinner portions. I'm not a huge pork fan but we do have smoked meats pretty regularly. I figure I'll do up some shoulders to pull and take them to my parents as well.

Most of the beef here, if you buy locker meat, is grass raised and only finished on grain so the prices are fairly stable that way. We don't buy from the grocery store anyway.
