Since you changed your eating habits have you had a change in your monthly cycle?

I started my period Sat AM and Mon night it is gone! I just wonder if this is a sign of things to come or a fluke.

Yup! But I made a bunch of changes all around the same time, so I didn't know that was a factor! Wow!

It just goes to show that ALL parts of our bodies need proper nutrients to function correctly.

Reproduction.

Like BBH's little girl, suddenly doing great in school and "getting" math for the first time. Awesome.

The brain.

And me, having a messed up digestive system since I was a child...having "calm in my middle" and no more IBS!

Digestive system.

I'm sure there is more.....

my eating changes never effected the monthly cycle

are you getting to that age Dace? some go thru changes younger???

I am 48 now and finally that sucker is stopping...well, doing weird things...LOL---I can not wait for it to be over, then it comes and surprises me months later..LOL

It changed not much for me other than feeling SO MUCH better.

For Tony a good diet sure changed his digestion to the better.

Well, mine was a few days longer than before, but I was able to function better. I'm almost always stuck in the bed, on painkillers with a heating pad for several hours, but not this time.

Both sides of my family go well into their 50's....lots of surprise babies well into the 40's, too. Yikes. I have a ways to go, so anything to make it easier is great. I used to live on ibuprofen and it still didn't really help. Now one or two gets me through just fine, and it is more of a precaution.

Noobie my 18yr old is close to that...really bad for a couple days.

For me normally I start light for 8 hours then the next 12 are really bad...as in using the restroom nearly every hour. Then it tapers for 3 days... this one was much lighter.

What prompted me to ask is because a couple years ago we (DH & I) went vegan for about 45 days or so, just as a personal challenge. I have read that periods tended to be much lighter on a vegan diet and mine was! I just wondered if there was any evidence of this high produce diet having similar effects...seems like we run the gamut though. Interesting.

Sally I love the story about your DD....my son struggles in school, he is extremely bright but struggles with the process of it all. I am killing myself trying to get this kid to eat better. He is extraordinarily picky...tending towards a little OCDish. He will literally pass on eating any food rather than eating something he does not want to eat.....I gotta break thru with this kid!
Any ideas would be welcome!!

Thankfully, the serious debilitating pain & nausea only lasts for a few hours. I've learned not to eat until I have bounced back, otherwise I'm a worshiper of the porcelain throne :sick After those couple/several hours in bed I'm a little run down, but able to move & work.

Oddly enough, the few times it's hit late in the day rather than first thing in the morning, I've been absolutely fine. I wish that happened more often. I suppose that it's based on the differing hormone levels throughout the day.

I really hope this wasn't a fluke, and that the better eating will change it. I can totally deal with a longer episode, as long as I'm able to work & play.

Dace, is he upset that he has to struggle so much? Perhaps you could read Sally's story of her DD to inspire him to at least give it a shot. Maybe a trial run? "Do this for 4 weeks and we'll see if your taste buds & brain like it."
