Rinse and repeat until the turkeys are gone, or your freezer is full, whichever come first.

Turkeys flock together in the winter, but once its mating season they tend not to commune like that. If my hubby were here, he would be able comment on their habits, but he's up north ice fishing.

I'm envious though, with all the free wild game around, you wouldn't need to buy meat at the store. Bear, deer, turkey :drool

Marshfield? I used to live in Stettin. We couldn't grow a darn thing because of all the deer and THEY KNOW when hunting season is! :gig

We did get pheasant and plenty of rabbits.

The nuisance permit sounds like a good idea if you can get one. The DNR used to be a real pill about stuff like that.

Deer hide around here. Not many were shot during deer season. Last year my husband got two and neither I nor my father-in-law even saw a tail. The most action I got was a hawk finally getting himself a red squirrel (that happened to be annoying me in the stand). This year, no one got a deer and the neighbors didn't do all that well considering they have a larger property to hunt. Unfortunately it's not turkey season and unless the bears really become a nuisance, we aren't going to hunt them.

For now we'll just drool over the turkeys and if they are around in the
Spring they may become Thanksgiving dinner.
