Here is my stand by recipe- This was the first bread I ever made and it turned out great! I make it at least once a month.
Milk and Honey White Bread
2 pkgs (1/4 oz each) Active dry yeast
2 1/2 C warm milk (110-115 degrees)
1/3 C of honey
1/4 C butter, melted
2 tsp salt
8- 8 1/2 cups better for bread flour
1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add the honey, butter, salt and 5 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
2. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled. About 1 hour.
3. Punch dough down. Divide in half; shape each portion into a loaf. Place in two greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown (cover loosel with foil if top browns too quickly). Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
