Out to pasture
I just make sure it is good and dry, usually by storing it in the house for a while. Then I just rub the kernels off with my fingers. Sometimes I use a tool like a bottle opener to get the kernels started, when my fingers can't get them loose. It kind of messes my fingers up, and I could wear gloves, but I just do it while watching tv.
I like growing my own, because that way I know they are organic, they are fresh and they taste better and I can use the extra for my chickens and the rabbit. Or I can grind it up and make corn meal or corn flour.
