" I'm in Arkansas, so I'm and thinking about growing a patch for sunflower and sesame seeds (for food, oil, and Tahini) when I get land. "

We can't guarantee there wont be traces of anything bad in the soil, air, or water- but I grow stuff naturally. I like Grapeseed oil too but have a feeling it would be hard to produce. I love eating pumpkin seeds so there wouldn't be enough left for oil making.

I intend to have some goats too and make at least some butter. Ghee might be a decent winters day project. Butter would have to be from naturally raised animals for that.

Are there any problems with organic, cold processed, sunflower or sesame oil? I know to keep them cold.

Those are excellent choices! I like the UNTOASTED (tastes BURNT) sesame oil. It actually is better for you heated, unlike most oils.

Well, I think making your own pressed oils is just too much work....however, I have this thing stuck in my head to give making sea salt a try! This is how barter was invented!!!

I use a touch of sesame oil when I stir fry so it gets heated but they keep better raw.

I want to try grinding sesame to make tahini :drool then when it separates, just using some of the oil. Don't have a grinder yet. Not sure what kind will work.
