City Biddy
My daughter has her old POA pony and Malcolm the Painted Desert sheep. She has always offered salt and mineral free choice. The pony and sheep have different mineral requirements, one in particular copper is possibly deadly to the sheep.
To solve the problem (or at least lessen the danger) I told her to fix it like a reverse creep feeder. Now her big six mineral lick is hanging high on the wall where only the pony can reach and the regular salt block that is safe for both is in the easily accessible floor tub in the corner of the run in shed.
