If all else fails, and you just want them as housewear, good-quality duct tape actually works quite well. Put it on the inside *and* outside of the holey area; you can baste a narrow strip of t-shirt (rag) material around the edges on the inside of the garment if you find the duct tape tends to curl back and its adhesive sticks to your legs. IME this will go through the laundry a number of times before it starts to come apart, at which time a touchup with a warm iron (under a press cloth!!!) will give it a bit more lifespan.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat
Duct Tape! Have you been talking to my brother and dad. They use it on everything. If all else fails, I can make a new pair out of duct tape.

Don't bother. Just be sure to wear some underwear.
HAH!!! Love you way of fixing things. I would wear boxers or leggings underneath, but afraid more wear without repair will rip them faster. Also, some family members have complained. My sister and mom had a mini intervention with me yesterday about the state of some of my clothes.

With small holes, I just try to match my underwear to the holey item. It's just for wearing around the house or farm. If someone comes unannounced, it's their problem if they catch me in crappy clothing. I just try to stay decent, because stepson comes over. And some of the nicer neighbors and male neighbors can see into our yard. So I want to be appropriately covered up.
I don't work in the front yard in my crappy clothes either. Never know when a prospective employer might be going by. ;)

Another thing is that the police helicopter circles our area a lot and quite frequently they have zoomed in on me working in the yard and then circled me. Although I have reported this, they have always told me: "madam, we are chasing a dangerous criminal and you should go into the house and lock your doors." Makes me wonder how many dangerous women criminals we have in the neighborhood wearing a bathing suit top and tiny shorts and flip flops, occasionally holding a chicken or just bent over pulling weeds!!! Considering how long I have been circled by them at rather close range some times. :ep
Apparently at our friend's house a few blocks down, the criminals lie on lounge chairs by the pool in bathing suits, sometimes reading a magazine especially on hot summer weekends.

There is a great difference between us then FarmerDenise. When people see me scantly clad in the garden they usually run and avert their eyes! :gig
