LOL Gina I find shopping for a horse the WORST time ever----til ya get that perfect one

I have to say all my horses from way back when were "perfect"---for me! but the stress of finding that perfect, dead head, alert, smart, nag that will keep my beer balanced in my hand is hard to find...LOL LOL

I take riding as pure luxury and fun now.....dont' worry I know I will find that perfect nag again (lol yea me just keep thinking that lol)

most of my horse friends are stuck now with older good horses, but I want younger now only because I am getting older and hope this next one takes me to the grave hahaha

Well, we only have horses and chickens (well, and the dogs). The 8 horses are out 24/7 with a round bale that we put in every 3 days, and 2 of the largest Rubbermaid water tubs. So, daily chores there are minimal- top off the water and make sure everyone is walking and not bleeding. The horse barn (36x72) is farther away from the house than I wanted- probably 500 feet. Until we got a well dug down there it was a huge pain! I loved my last property that had the barn about 20 feet from the house- literally. Great in the winter and so close the water line was run from the house.

The chickens are probably 50 feet from the house, and are really minimal work- open up, scoop poop, and feed in the morning, close up at night and collect eggs. We only have 6 elderly chickens (and one bantam roo) left so I bed the coop with woody pet sawdust and scoop the chicken poop with a cat litter scoop. It takes probably 5 minutes for that few girls.

What I really want is one of those antique New England farmhouses that has the barn directly attached to the house!

Hubby would absolutely KILL me if I wanted to live in one of those (I would LOVE it)... It took convincing that the dogs should be allowed in the house... I can't imagine if I also had sheep, chickens and horses attached to the house :)

Have you ever heard of a Visalia saddle? They were made here in my town a long time ago. Just wondering.
