I'm Southern. I hate grits. Haaaaaate them, profoundly and passionately, with extra emphasis on the hatred part. Only thing those are good for is murdering fire ants.

Holy Cow - HATE GRITS? That's in-American...or at least in-southern! Oh well I guess you're allowed one tiny little flaw!

I remember the movie My Cousin Vinny... LOVED it! I have an aquaintance that is a criminal lawyer and she said that it really shows what it's like in court. She had to get permission from the judge to wear tennis shoes in court after foot surgery...

I guess we'll have to forgive you of that one thing, WBF.... My goodness. Heck, just leaves more for me! :drool

Last night's dinner was a semiflop. It wasn't a total flop, it was edible, but it certainly wasn't the way it was supposed to be. Firstly, I forgot to get out ground meat to thaw, the plan was shepard's pie. Then AFTER we start cooking the ground beef I bought while at the grocery store an hour before, and boiling the potatoes, I discover I don't have a bag of frozen mixed veggies like I thought I did. I only have a bag of plain frozen green beans. So into the pot they went. So we had beef, green bean and potato shepard's pie. It didn't taste bad, a lot of salt helped, but then I also used Ghee in the potatoes instead of regular butter (bein' dairy and all....) so there wasn't any salt in the butter. It was ok, I'll eat the leftovers, the BF requested that we not do that again :p

I did end up with a headache yesterday after I got home. I think it was tension induced, probably from staring at my computer screen all day. So I made dinner, cleaned up a bit, organized the food for today, and then soaked in the tub for a bit and then finally went to bed. It was early and it felt great. The headache was gone this morning (usually how I have to get rid of them) so that was good.

So day 2 is here. I forgot my first supplement this morning when I woke up. Oops. At least I remembered to drink the suggested amount of water. I feel mostly normal, though my stomach is adapting to the increased water from yesterday. I checked in with CM, and I'm going to adjust how I was doing that. It says 8oz of water with a drop of lemon EO when you wake up, all 3 meals, and then before bed. I was trying to drink that in addition to the liquid with the meal, but I think that's way too much. Going to do chicken and potatoes, I think I'll roast them both on the grill tonight that way the house doesn't get hot, since we're at the start of a heat wave.

Tonight I'm hoping to have enough time to run to the library and walmart. I need a new muffin tin, I want to find a kitchen knife that comes with a sheath that I can bring to the office, and I could use a new meat thermometer and a new oven mitt. I have a gift card that should cover all of that (it is walmart after all) so we'll see how far that gets me. I keep repeating it because I remembered, forgot and then re-remembered the knife already today. Sometimes my brain...

I have my last mindfulness and stress reduction class this afternoon. I'm a little relieved because it will give me Tuesday afternoon back and 2 1/2 hours freed in my schedule. But I'm going to miss the group and the practice.

I'm really hoping this weekend we can get the chicken coop fixed up, and then get them moved up closer to the house. Then I can get the meat birds organized! I still need to find a butcher in the area. I'm not brave enough to do them myself (nor do I really have an appropriate setup yet), so that it what it is. I also really need to figure out the garden, cause it's getting to be late for that if I don't get a move on soon!

You call yourself a southerner! You don't like grits, cornbread, or any seafood!! Depending on your locale, those are southern staples. You must not be a "real" southerner... :th:th:th

BUT....

I'll forgive you anyway, and eat your portion :hugs

Hey I'm from New England and I hate clam chowder. Basically the same as a southerner hating grits, I would imagine.
