I live in Kentucky. We are in the Southeastern region. But those canadians have done it again. Its COLD. Its 9* out and it is noon. Plus seven inches of snow out. And an ice storm expected at the end of this week.

-----The Duck poop is actually frozen. HARD FROZEN. Its no longer watery its hard AS A ROCK.
-----I couldnt get the rabbit door open. It was froze shut. I had to pry it open.
-----All ANIMAL WATER IS FROZE SOLID. I can usually peck it open and there be some water. And the rabbit waterers will not melt even when they are in the house.

Canadia you can have your cold back!!!!!!!!!!

Yes well, just remember who we blame when it is 95 F and 95% humidity in the summer up *here* ;)

Pat, where it has been single-digits (F) and *howling* snowy wind for a couple days now and I am thoroughly tired of it and ready for spring. It *is* almost springtime, right? Soon?

We inherit the arctic from you. And you inherit the hades temperatures from us. Interesting......sorta like a give and get relationship? :p

You ain't jokin'. This is as cold as it's EVER been in the 7 years we've lived in NC. I'm wearing the winter coat I brought with me from VT. You know it's cold when I'm wearing THAT. :p

Both 1 gallon poultry waterers are frozen solid. I had them sitting in front of a space heater yesterday to thaw out; the chickens have to drink out of a little ceramic bowl of warm water I put out. So glad I have a heat lamp over their roost. :)

I cant run electricity down there because of distance. So Im sure I have little chicken sickles down there. But I have learned who is hardy and who isnt. Thats a plus.

Its crazy. Usually when that kind of winter hits the southern state, Alaska warms up a huge amount.
Not this time though.
Its staying COLD!

The warm is all over here in Colorado. Don't worry, we will get blasted in Spring. That is when we get most of our snow :p

Holy SMOKES!! Its coooooolllldddddd!! I just finished chipping ice from the rain barrels. The ice is at LEAST 12 inches thick, but I chipped away, knowing there was water in there somewhere, then I hit water...and the pressure of me chipping away....WOOSH! It was like Old Faithfull. GRrrrrrrrrrrr!:somad At least the chickens have water now. :p
