My Welsummers are on day 10! I have 4 of the original pures left. Several mixes are doing well!

Of the four pures, I saw definite chick movement in them! The other two are iffy. The shells are waaaaaaaaay to dark for me to get a good look.

My maran eggs were scrambled. :( Not a one of them showed any signs of developing, and I could see the air cell and bubbles moving inside. I wasn't happy. :smack the postal workers!

I had a shipment of eggs from Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain (Tori) arrive today. She asked me to help her test shipping in cold weather from Alaska for her. So, I have 18 test eggs going in the 'bator tomorrow morning. We have a thread about it over on BYC

I am really excited about doing this test hatch! She sent a Hatch Chart with the eggs so I can keep track of how each egg does.

Tuffoldhen mailed out BBS Orps and Brahma mixed eggs to me today. I am hoping they are here by Wednesday!!!

Lots of hatching going to be going on here in the next few weeks!! My mutt eggs are due to start hatching next Sunday!! :woot

My pure Wellies didn't hatch, but my Wellie/Rock mixes did! Six out of six eggs hatched!

That's pretty good IMO!

These next two I think are the pure BBS/Barred Rocks

Cute chicks! What interesting colors. I can't wait to see what they'll look like as they grow.

I might STILL get some Welsummers!

Ok, well I know I am definitely getting 3 Welsummers from Meyer Hatchery. Really didn't want to go the hatchery route for them, but after my eggs didn't hatch, I broke down and ordered 2 pullets and 1 Roo for the end of March. :p

I am getting an egg assortment this week from GateKeeper on BYC and he sent me a list of the eggs that are in my assortment...SIX WELLIES!

I've also talked with AussieSharon about getting a dozen Welsummer eggs from her the second week of March, as my 'bators are full till then LOL

WOOT!

So, I'll be trying again! If it's meant to be, it'll be!!
