I use DE around my dogs and cats. Be careful that you don't create a dust cloud, it's not good to breathe that stuff in.
We have the beetles too. Between them and the wolf spiders, I still spray around the foundation and cracks of the house. I can't do spiders and those beetles stink. :sick

Be very careful using it where the cats and dogs hang out. The dust irritates eyes nose, and any mucous membranes. I use a little behind the stove or places like that, to keep roaches from liking my place - but I mostly use it in the garden.

To get rid of flys in your house-- take a ziploc bag and fill it with water, tape it to the outside of your door. I swear to you it works....it's something my granny has done.

If the DE is food grade it is safe. DO NOT just go to Lowes or Home Depot and get DE. The stuff they carry is not food grade and is not safe.

Those beetles are a different story than the lady bugs. Lady bugs are welcomed here. Those stinky things are NOT!

I know Murphy's oil soap mixed with water and a little alcohol does kill a lot of bugs, but I haven't tried it on the beetles. We only get a few here and there so I never tried spraying. Most of the trees they live in are dead in our area. That fungus they drag along with them took out a LOT of trees.
