Ooh good planting FEM! I am 4b/5a and the term "winter garden" is still very strange to me!

Burrr is cold up there ain't it? Funny thing my son, his wife and two grand daughters came from northern IL for Thanksgiving. We all here in southern IL we're wearing long sleeve shirts / sweat shirts. They show up in shorts and short sleeve shirts. It's all about what your used to I guess... It still amazes me just how big the US really is.

I shoveled snow in a t-shirt last spring... It's fun in January when anything above 0 feels like a heat wave!

I am in 8a, used to be just north of Houston, Tex. Same zone as FEM or just on the line between it and the next zone.

I have collards and mustard greens planted right now. I have been slack on my winter garden. I have thought about putting hoops over the plants so I could cover them in extended or hard freezes.
