@Mini Horses the best description of the taste I can give you is that Mayhaw jelly tastes like a rose smells. @frustratedearthmother do you have a better description?
We have lots of native persimmons too! There are probably a dozen of them in that same pasture. With so many trees, it's dumb to call it a pasture, but I gotta call it something. There's elm, hackberry, cedar and oaks too.
