This is the very reason I take my cell with me every time I go to the coop. I have this fear of slipping and falling. Then I just imagine myself lying flat on my back till someone, finally notices I'm missing. That and I accidentally locked myself in the run once!!

:p

I hope your dh the best.

I've been thinking this very thing since it happened. If one of us had done something like this without the other nearby it could have been hours till the other noticed. He tends to spend a lot of time in his studio, either painting or on the computer, and I am usually in another part of the house. I can easily see that we each might not miss the other for quite some time. I really dislike cell phones - I see no reason to be that connected to the rest of the world every minute of every day - but I think I will try harder to remember to carry it with me. As I swiftly approach my 60th birthday it seems more and more likely that I might find myself in need of assistance at some point. And DH is a couple of years older.

You know, men do that ALL the time...pretend to do something wrong in order to get out of ever having to help again...but a broken ankle, that's taking it a bit far!! ;)(
You know, that's exactly what I was thinking!!
Dramatic, maybe, but it sounds like he was right on the money.
