The leather couch might have had pests in it. But the leather would still be good I'll bet.
Ideas/ways to re-use/recycle "rubbish"?

The local pool people have offcuts when they install safety pool nets. I use cable ties and the offcuts to cover my coops to prevent the hawks from taking the chicks.

Wow. I almost don't know what to say. I have to say that I admire your spirit and your heart. You are one hell of a man to have the positive attitude that you do after what you have been through.
Thanks, to add more stress, this morning at 6:24 I was served by Deputy via my now ex-wife for comtemp for not allowing her to take my son back to MS with her ex-con (murder) boyfriend which had hit my son on a prier visit. I have to appear in court the 22 so please pray for us. I can't afford an attorney as you all know, so will try to defend myself. She had two kids by him before we were divorced.

Now has a third child and they aren't married. I patched the hole in the living room a couple days ago with a friend helping. So now the cold won't come down nore heat go up, it'll be warmer. Still need to connect the water lines inside the basement using Pex to a sand filter, whole house filter then to a Pex maniblock. Between the brakes on my truck, charging system, house damage she left and now the contempt its a bit stressful, but the Lord has a plan.

Ex's can be a mess. It is sad when our kids have to suffer for a relationship we couldn't get under control.
Hope you get to keep your child as much as possible.....primary, if the judge listens to you. But a mother has a lot of say. Pray your child safety. I am sure you taught him respect, which can really save his butt, if he is prudent.
I went through my share of hell, but in the end, DH always knew to keep me as a friend and for the most part, my kids are mine, with occasional visits, until he gets aggravated with their bickering at each other......then he brings them home. I guess your boy is old enough to know to get back to you, if he absolutely NEEDS to, but hopefully he can communicate well enough to not get into a fix.
These situations can be heart breaking, but you do seem very positive , as our friends have indicated.

@JASTECH I don't know your circumstances, but it sounds like you need to get to Texas and your friends, NOW. If your home is in such bad shape, she could call CPS on you and get your son taken away. Be prepared. if CPS comes knocking, then hit them up for every government service there is. If it is their job to keep a child "safe" then it is their job to help the parent be a better parent by enrolling that parent on government help programs. You might not want to go that way, but just be ready if she fights dirty.
@baymule, were living with my mother until I get the house back to its prior glory. I agree with Texas Now, have house listed with real estate agency and have four viewings in short time. The move to Texas will take place within 30 days after sell. Well I went to the court house and a free attorney won't be there until the 21st, court is the 22nd so that may not work too good. So she has filed 3 contempt for Oct, Nov and Dec for which I was never served, stating I denied her visitation for a 30 day visit in June.
