Speaking of that end of things.....how would many of you...er...um....GO? Do any of you have a backup plan for disposal of human waste where you live?

I have an outhouse on the place but I know that most of these old-timey "solutions" have been zoned out and are now illegal in towns and cities.

We also have a toilet seat that snaps onto a 5 gal. bucket for camping trips....much more comfortable than the old chamber pot, believe me! :p

I am very sorry that I got rid of our old sh!t house a few year back :he
Butt...it was in pretty sad condition and we were getting afraid to step in to use it  Now THAT would have been TFHTS
Seriously though? I think we are pretty well prepared for just about anything, short of nuclear or biological. We'd be G to G for about a year with what we have on hand right now. :hide If it's nuclear or biological.... I don't wanna be around afterword anyway......

I've seen your supplies, SKR8PN.....I'll definitely be comin' to your house to hunker down and sweat it out! :drool

You know, I'm thinking I would like to take one of my metal wheat tins that seals so tightly and fill it full of boxes of matches and lighters. That wouldn't be a bad idea, huh?

Just a stray thought that ran through the empty void between my ears...... :p

...would def run out of TP and many other things in short order. Could go for quite a while on rice, eggs and bread...
I just found this thread and ewww....

I understand how you could use the bread, but how do the rice and eggs stand in for the TP? ;) :D :D

I am with Quail ...

I will say my prayers, load the gun, already got the big mean dogs and MUM is the word... a least until the zombies clear.

Later I will be out teaching and helping others to learn how to be self sufficient. :)

Wouldn't it depend a whole lot on what kind of 'S' it *was*?

As a generic response, MorelCabin's seems by far the most sensible to me :p

Agreed on both counts. :)

Totally depends on what happened. I'm not prepping for any catastrophes here, just living life. I'm hoping I would have the decency to check in on our older neighbors and keep connected with friends and family. I think for both categories we would have a lot to offer if food scarcity became an issue.

Just not into that kind of planning, but since I try to be as self-reliant for food as possible, we do have a LOT of food in this home!
