where would you move? if you wanted? unless you are in your perfect spot?

I have to say my NC is a nice state. climate is super reasonable in winter, 'tad' hot in summer but I like hot, no horrible earthquakes and all that mess in my area along with minor big T-storms that usually don't produce tornadoes and all that mess.

So I have to say staying put is a great option. Mts and forest to the west (easy drive) and beaches and the great big ocean to the east (easy drive)

BUT---when I see those pics of out West, or the beautiful FL keys or the rocky coasts of Maine/Oregon and all that breathtaking beautiful areas to live out there in this country...it makes me want to move LOL

So many beautiful places seem to be calling my name. I kinda want to live right in the middle of something 'spectacular' --you know what I mean. My area is nice, but it doesn't have that absolute wow factor I would love to see each and every day.

So does any place have that draw to you?
Any chance you could get there?

Not sure where I will end up in the golden years, but I think a retirement move to 'somewhere spectacular' is in my cards. I hope LOL

The Garden of Eden. I could SOOOOO live there
Petra would be a really cool place to live too.
Ancient Egypt would be interesting right along the Nile. It used to not be so much desert.
Ancient Caanan would be cool. Giant grapes and all sounds pretty good to me. :D

There are SOOOOOO many other places I dream of living, or dream of what living there would be like, but here, is where I am, and I am satisfied with it for now. :) We have a reasonable climate and good long growing season, and it's home. I just wish it'd quit raining :p

Right back in Pendleton Co...has all the wow factor one could ever want. Every bend in the road brings another beautiful, awe-inspiring vista....I don't think I'd ever tire of seeing it.

Second choice? Caribbean, Hawaii, Fiji ....any island is fine, just drop me off.

I love where I am,
If I was to move it would be somewhere with even warmer winters. I really don't like the cold. And I would make the change to off grid living.

Until recently I thought Hawai'i or even back to the South Pacific would be my choice. But, after starting this journey to a more SS lifestyle, I would love a nice, fertile piece of property with a well. I don't particularly care where, as long as I can have a garden and a place to pasture my livestock, and free-range my chickens.

First choice would be near Chama, NM. Beautiful area! I also love Roxboro, NC and Scottsville, KY. But mostly just INTO A HOUSE! And where we are is fine!

Timbuktu way north of out in the boonies. Actually, the foothills of Alberta would be nice. Or someplace in the remote interior of British Columbia.

well i kinda like where im at now...

BUT...if i won the lottery and could have my dream property wherver i wanted...

i love little seaside villages, and would either want to place myself on a nice fertile semi tropical island somewhere (ive always dreamt about the seychelles, never been but the images just blow my mind...)
or id probably head back to England and end up in one of the seaside villages there...or mabe around nottingham, or one one of the tiny little islands surrounding the UK...mabe wight, skye or one of the channel isles..
but unfortunatly you just cant buy land in the UK unles your stinkin rich (not enough land to go around nowerdays)...

but quaint and costal is a big dream...buying plenty of land on the coast however a little more difficult lol

South! I grew up in NC and miss it a lot. Never lived there, but Asheville feels like "home" to me. Somewhere along the blue ridge corridor would be fine with me.

Been out to CO and loved it there, but I don't know how I'd handle the winters, and dry weather makes me wilt!

My ideal place would be somewhere that it doesn't get above 85 in summer (which would last 9 months) and much below 20 in winter (which would be 2 months) and mostly calm easy going weather. It should snow some, because snow is fun between 6 and 12". And that's it. If somebody finds it, let me know cause I'll be there!!!

My sister was so excited to inform me that the summers in NH only got up to the 70's... I told her you're forgetting to tell me that is only 1.5 months out of the year!!
