I am currently with AT&T and paying about $29. SO wants to cut his landline phone service and I was wondering if anyone knew of an IP that does not require a landline. I would also love to pay less than what I am currently paying, just trying to trim the fat, so to speak.
I only have a cell phone, no landline.

How are you getting your internet service?

Verizon/Embarq/CenturyLink/whatever their name is this week, supposedly offers internet without a landline. But I don't know if they're out where you are. :/

At home we have the same as Wannabefree, and I would NOT recommend it if you can help it.

We use red spectrum its a local broadband provider $25. a month. I also have ATT cell service, with an I Phone the service is $30. month unlimited internet . It has internet tethering with it so I can link the pc to it when I am home. All together it is $70. per month for cell service and internet.

you can get landline service for internet

you don't have to have their phone bill----right now I could call and cancel my telephone service and keep my internet just fine thru the lines.

ATT---I am paying $14.95 for 3 years for DSL ---caught a deal with them. They had me at $24.95 and I saw a promotion, called and said I want it, they said no, I said "see ya later" and they said "ok" lol

CALL ATT
tell them you want a lower charge --simple as that or you will change to a lower priced provider and they will very probably cut your charge

good luck

Really? I love it! Of course, I have heard that they have started putting a cap on ow much access you can have during a 24 hour period. Is that why you have issue with them? I have had WildBlue for almost 3 years, and never had a problem with them.

That has been an issue in the past yes, but other issues are that (for us) dial-up is often faster (and cheaper) and the fact that even a light sprinkle or strong wind knocks us out of service, as does snow. We have a neighbor who has the same problem.

I'm glad that you've had better luck with them!

Ahhh, yeah I pretty much lose service for haf the month of May  We get tornadoes :( I can see where it would be an issue where you live with all the precipitation though. Sorry you aren't having a good experience :( So, I guess I'll now only recommend it locally...or anywhere but snowy regions
