I've been using this dual temperature controller and the freezer to cold crash and lager just above freezing. Its a slick little controller. It came with one of the brew gear kits I bought from an individual off of Craigslist.

I see a great DIY incubator right here with that little gadget. No wiring skills needed. Just set it, Hook it up to a light bulb in a ventilated cooler, add a little fan if so desired, and you're all set to hatch those eggs.

Ranco stat and a ceramic space heater choked down to 150 watts works for me

NOT FAIR !! :old It's your job to know that stuff...the rest of us just have to spend $$$. THAT is why I have broody hens. They do all the work.:lol:

As to a keg -- that's a lifetime of drink for me. I'm a 6-pack a yr on beer. But wine...get out of the way!

Guess so. Since they will be yet a year older next spring, I don't hold much faith that they will set eggs next year. Time to bring in some chicks and brush off incubator and MHP. Of course, I'll be hatching from my own flock, but may pick up a few hatchery chicks to augment.

My little redneck ice cold beer on demand machine is complete.

First pour :) the Oktoberfest is still warm but I had to try it. I built a simple 8 1/4" square box for the green house gas (CO2) 20 lb tank (right hand side).

I set the temperature controller for 40 degrees, its currently 65.7 inside the freezer.

Only the left faucet is loaded with a single keg of dark Oktoberfest. Even at room temperature the beer is malty and delicious.

I'm pretty happy with it.
