basically my grand father and his brother bought a couple of acres...,,about half of the original acres of which or so are left...but ill prob just get 3.... or 8 more for now. and have that cleared, depending on how much property tax would be and getting the land deeded. currently we have two acres. Here is a pic of my set up right now...w/ the 2 acres....baymule said:Maschil,
I remember reading on a thread about clearing acreage that you have woods. How thick is your timber and what size? Do you have several lots, one acre or several acres? Do you need to clear land before you can plant your trees? Map out your property and where you want to plant your trees, vines, build a barn and whatever else you are planning. Be sure to allow grow room between the trees so they won't be too crowded. You can graze goats or sheep in the orchard, but you better have a Fort Knox fence built around your trees or the livestock will have yummies in their tummies!

right now i plan on using the bigger plot for year round produce... the side one (60 by 160) which i am clearing myself with chainsaw, lawnmower, and hoe, is for hardy kiwis, pomegranates, grapes, black berries, blueberries, raspberries, and currants... each having its own row...
the rest im not to sure about...
as far as the timber that is beyond the 250 by 48 ft, its prob been growing for 10 years or so...., the relatives normally cut if every 10 or 15 to make some money,.
