Yep. And stores sell out! Those city slickers love to decorate with it. We are more concerned with how to eat it. :D Then, after Thanksgiving, they throw it away. We feed it to the chickens, etc. Same with pumpkins, etc.

I walked into a WalMart the other day and they had racks of nice, large pumpkins at $9.98 each! :th Even the smaller, 4-6# ones were $5. Wish farmer next door would grow those & not cotton.

Lot of hand harvesting costs with these type things. But, nice niche for homesteaders at a Farmer's Market or roadside stand.

My daughter buys pumpkins to decorate the front yard from Halloween to Christmas. Then I get them and give to the Sheep and chickens.

If you can't be there, find a stand that will buy from you for $8 a doz. They KNOW they will sell. Even some of your grocery, small craft outlets will take them. Sell them at a church & donate 1/2....any flea markets near you? Parking lot of a shopping center, beauty shops, etc. THINK local. :caf

I got my daughter thinking about how to market also. Now that I know what it is and I can grow it.

Indian corn bundled with baling twine. Does it get any more fall in the country than this? Clearly I ain't no fashion bug! I just might have a case of toxic masculinity, just a little.

Store pumpkins around Halloween are too expensive. Who needs them if you grow gourds?

We grow our own corn too
