I'm reviving this thread, ya'll, because I feel like if I post it here, I have to cowboy up and check in that it's done.

And, since we're having a break in the nasty white mess, and the temps are bearable, I am ready to start outdoor prepping for spring!

Today's to-do list:

1. Cull 3 chickens-I will do it
2. Finish re-vamping nesting boxes in main coop-almost done
3. Work on putting divider between old coop and new addition, creating two rooms.
4. Clean and Cover raised bed with windows
5. Clean out bantam coop (if I get the other jobs finished first)
6. Set up incubator in prep for first attempt to incubate duck eggs (this is last on the list because this is the *fun* chore. lol)

:bow reading your to do lists makes me tired and a little ashamed :/

Today - I want to make some banana bread, and some cookies or something. Clean my freezer so I can put meat back in it. Have to wash clothes, and do the other daily things.

I was just mulling over my to do list in my head, so thanks for bringing this thread back.

Seems like I get more done when I write it down in front of 50 cyber friends. :p

Big number one today is clean and organize the basement before it gets too out of hand. I want to start stocking it up with TSHTF stuff.

DD is off for MLK Jr. Day so we are going to spend it together. Hopefully if the rain holds off, we will ride.

I got tons of stuff done this weekend though:
*cleaned the chicken coop
*built a temporary pigsty
*cleaned the duck's coop
*took loads of used bedding to the compost
*refilled all the different feed containers etc.
*built hay racks for three horses

Today's to-do list:

1. Cull 3 chickens- DONE and burned the bodies and it was very hard, my first time really having to cull one that was special...in fact, it was some of my Speckled Sussex, one of which was my favorite, so that was hard. I nursing myself with a coffee break....that's allowed. lol

2. Finish re-vamping nesting boxes in main coop-almost done

3. Work on putting divider between old coop and new addition, creating two rooms.

4. Clean and Cover raised bed with windows

5. Clean out bantam coop (if I get the other jobs finished first)

6. Set up incubator in prep for first attempt to incubate duck eggs (this is last on the list because this is the *fun* chore. lol)

Great job, QA! What are you doing to revamp the nesting boxes?

I planted some Bright Lights Swiss Chard this morning in a small container. :fl

I'm putting the milk crates in as nesting boxes. The chickens kept knocking their feeders/waterers off the milk crates, and it made the floor in the new coop all wet.

I was mad.

SO, milk crates are going to become the new nesting boxes, and I've got some brackets I'm attaching to the walls of the coop for hanging their feeders and waterers on. :)

edited for typos.

Mine is rather pathetic and sad. No school today for MLK Jr. Here's what I've accomplished so far:
Slept until 9:00!!!!! Holy cow!
Checked emails
made waffles to eat today and freeze for the week
took shower
gathered eggs, watered and fed birds
gathered seed catalogs to make decisions about what to try this year

to do:
gather poster making supplies to bring to work tomorrow to make materials for next month's vocabulary unit (Will post in journal-I'm very excited!!)
trip to Walmart for missing supplies-roads are messy but not too bad. Also need to go to the Co-op for milk, we ran out because of all those waffles....
make list of seeds to order
knit
read
laundry laundry laundry
knit some more
read some more
play with puppy

Did I mention the weather today stinks and I can't get anything done outside. Too muddy.

WON'T post on BYC that I need someone in CT/RI to order me silkie pullets. I won't I won't I won't......
