I've got 16 minutes to go, I left it alone --and left the kitchen . I haven't used this thing in well over 5 years,--probably closer to 10, so IDK if it's normal or not. If it's gonna asplode, it's gonna do it with me nowhere near it--I'm hiding from it.

We just wash our jars when we empty them, and wash them again just as we are getting ready to use them. We ain't died yet!

Before you use it again oil the rubber gasket. I think I read some where that it help it keep from drying out. Seals better.
