Is there any point in knowing the temperature of a fever?

Emerald, I gotta tell you that I've been reading your posts and admiring your 'signature' for a long time now. That's such a good one! I think I've seen you on the Baker Creek forum, too? There's so many cool people on these places, I've learned a great deal - and feel right at home when I read Scripture verses or slogans about caring for the important things (like family, friends and our animals)!

I like to know the temp so if it is getting into 104 I can reduce it,but I won't constantly dose.

I rarely reduce fevers since they are the *ovens* cooking the germs, but I will if it gets way too high or the child is very uncomfortable.

Sometimes a lower temp but *off* behavior can be more serious than a child acting normal with a very high temp.

I will admit I get scared when the temps are high. I keep a log of everything in case we need to see a doctor, which thankfully has been rare.

And thankfully most are OTC meds expire before we ever even think to use them.A waste, but I would rather have something on hand just in case. I hate taking sick kids to the store for meds/drinks.

Same here. High core temps speed white blood cells to the origin of invasion...I don't like hindering that little process.
