Remember that sweet potatoes and yams have a lower glycemic index than white potatoes. Unless you throw sugar in 'em, of course! :p

Yep! That is why I am making that on Tday....I have to have gravy, but I am perfectly content pouring it over sweet taters, then it is not quite as bad for me :thumbsup

I love an easy swap like that!

Now watch...everyone will eat my sweet potaotes and no one will eat the white spuds.....better make extra just in case ;)

LOL Yay! :D

I would make extra. Those sweet potatoes are GOOD! :) They make great leftovers too. I am doubling the recipe for my family (there will be 6 people at Thanksgiving dinner). There will probably be enough for leftovers that way.

LOL. That's why I wouldn't eat sweet potatoes when I was a kid. I thought they were disgusting. Turns out that all the dishes I had tried had marshmallows, brown sugar and other sweetener added :sick

A simple baked sweet potato with some fresh butter on it is pure heaven :D

that's what I was thinking. mash it with a hand masher, melt a gob of butter on it salt and pepper and your set. 9 we just had butternut squash the same way--delish!!)

DM...you sweet potato dish was a huge hit! I absolutely love it!

I made it early in the day and stuck it in the frig....popped it into the oven and it was perfect.

I did had a nice dusting or freshly grated Parmesan to the top too :thumbsup

Just wanted to thank you for the great recipe, it is a keeper!
