Ok another one this is really the first song us boys wrote together and kind of started this whole garage band thing. I recall be over at Dave's house and he was picking around with these two minor diminished 7th chords on his guitar and that's what inspired the rest of the song. Listen to the opening for the two chords. Like I said we all were friends, all attended the same church. We.played this song during Sunday service many times. It's a song about a much better play "a land of peace and love" where You and I are one and where we go after living this life in a land of pain and suffering. Peace and Love fits right in with the 70's (groovy)

The bass is a little to loud, i think the micropone was to close to my amplifer or something, it's pretty bad recording. Turn down the bass and it sounds better (did I really just say that? -:lol). In true 70's theme Jim also plays the tamborine a little in here also.

We didn't play much jazz. Mostly country area so lighter rock was about it for pep band. A large portion of the adults were still only country music listeners.

If you were in band you were pep band. Games were treated like concerts. Only football or basketball players were exempt. I think the hardest song for me was the "Peter Gunn Theme". My fingers are really too short to do it easily. Teacher had me practice on the double bass until I could pull off the contortions that required of me at speed. Made the electric bass easy in comparison.

I liked "25 or 6 to 4". Felt it was fun, though easy. Very recognizable bass line though. I loved that the first year I played. It starts with the bass. At basketball games we'd start playing it when the guys teams came out and players on the other team would miss their warm up shots sometimes when they realized it was a girl playing it. Something unheard of in that area.

Chicago 25 or 6 to 4 is a fun one to play - yes I agree! But girl bass players Rock!
