We got hit hard with rain today! We had a great time on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Rail Road today, though, so we didn't care!

In Peninsula, there is a great used book shop and I found a neat little book for dh called That Quail, Robert. It is about a couple who found a quail egg and it hatched. DH just started reading it on the way home. The couple made a nest for the chick and used a feather duster as substitute mama. They named the chick Robert. Definitely our kind of book!

QA sorry you had rain. We had our first dry day in 3 weeks. The sun actually came out around 3 this afternoon. So I did lots of outside stuff. Cleaned out 1 chicken house, went and picked up a dog crate for my MIL. It misted rain on me while I did that and my heart just fell. I picked up my SIL on the way and we delivered the dog crate, put it together, clipped the dogs nails and left. No misting rain by then. We stopped and she bought my lunch. Then at home full as a tick, I took a quick 30 minute nap and started cleaning the second chicken house. Got half of it done and moved on to finish up cleaning around the rabbit cages. Tomorrow morning first thing I will finish the chicken house.

I was so excited. This is the first weekend in 3 weeks I have been able to be outside.

2dream, I'm glad you were able to get some things done! :)

It was raining when we first got up this morning. It had rained, and thundered, most of the night.

Right now, I'm finishing up my 2nd cup of coffee, and then I'm running outside to try to get the other half of the floor down while the rain is on pause. :p

We got 3 inches last night. The half of our roof that was just reshingled was fine. The half that wasn't dripped on my pillow all night. I ended up sharing the pillow with a pan. :tongue

2dream...I can not even imagine what 3 weeks of rain is like! It sounds wonderful but only because it would be such a novelty to me!
I love being inside in the rain!
Edited to add.....our average yearly precipitation is 10-15 inches...that is PER YEAR! I had to run and look that up :)

It's been raining buckets for the last week here. Sunny right now, though. There's been a bunch of flooding and people have lost their homes or at best spent a lot of time drying out their basements. We are very fortunate that we're high enough on a hill that we came through unscathed.

The whole thing is kind of ironic, as Georgia has been in an awful drought for the last several years; last year the guvnuh held a prayer meeting to pray for rain. Be careful what you ask for!

That may be average Dace but did it say how much we have received this year. It has not rained at my house once.

It rained here and I just thanked God! :) The Bat and Big Sis visited with another load of Bat's stuff. Our grass really needed some moisture if I am to have any fall graze.

I made some potatoe, broccoli, kielbasa soup and homemade bread and a cake.

We snuggled down on the couches under fluffy comforters and talked ourselves silly! :p

And just listened to the rain on the tin roof........ :love
